Emergency Notification System
The University of Saskatchewan has a multi-device emergency alert system to warn the campus community when an emergency situation requires immediate action.
Wall display beacons
Located in high traffic areas across campus, these beacons attract attention to displayed alert instructions with a loud sound and flashing lights. Click here to see where beacons are located.
Desktop computer alerts
All managed computers on the USASK Domain will be programmed to receive emergency alerts with information and instructions that will display on the computer screen during an emergency.
Anyone who wishes to install the desktop Alertus application on computers that are unmanaged, or not part of the USASK Domain, may download and install the Alertus desktop app.
The Alertus mobile app is available as a free download. The University of Saskatchewan uses the app as part of its multi-device emergency alert system to warn and provide updates to the campus community when an emergency situation requires immediate action. By downloading the Alertus app, you will receive information and instructions as notifications on your smartphone or tablet.
AlertUs System Testing
The AlertUs Emergency Notification System is tested in January and September of every year. A "Test Alert" message is sent to all connected devices (wall beacons, Cisco phones, campus desktop computers, mobile app) to ensure the system is operating properly and optimally.
